Two years into homeownership...

Hi folks, I've taken lots of photos in the last few weeks, hoping to do lots of posts about home remodeling, gardening, and those stinking cute lambies, and then I got caught up in this little thing we call life. So I'm a little behind. But here's a little story about how it took us two years of home-ownership to finally get our bed moved upstairs: When we first bought our house the upstairs looked like this: Lovely orange and green shag carpet And the stairway looked like this: More carpet! And then this winter, Joey went a little stir-crazy and did this: A week before having guests over for a Christmas party... And then my dad came and cleaned it up a bit and now it looks like this: And this is pretty much where it is today, until my dad comes out to visit again... Tomatoes and Peppers

Despite a lack of rain in this area, my garden has still managed to produce a few tomatoes and peppers (without much help or watering from me, I hate to admit). Here' s what I was able to pick last night. And yes, that is the extent of my counter-space in my little kitchen...no surfaces to work on except the kitchen table. I am often walking with one ingredient across the kitchen, dropping it in the mixer, then walking back to check the recipe...baking in my kitchen is a work-out! Does anyone else suffer from a kitchen with a severe lack of working space? Or one that has a door (or two) or a window on all four walls, like mine? Or a dog that chewed on the cabinets? Or a garden that hasn't been watered in a while...?
